What’s new?
Punches
Do you hate someone? Hate them so bad that you want to punch the fucker? Well I got good news for ya! In Pre-Alpha 9, when you have a free hand you are able to punch with it.
Gonna add animation SFX and VFX at a later date.
Melee Weapons
What you hate them more? You can now slide-n-dice your friends with the new longsword that had been added.
Yeah… it’s not a great looking sword model, but it does the job for now… Will improve it later.
Improvements
Weapon equip animation blend
When a weapon is equipped/unequipped there is small blend-in/blend-out time rather than snapping into place instantaneously.
Weapon Throw Fix
Game would crash or other weapon would not be thrown when pressing both buttons at the same time.
Fix
When both buttons are pressed, both weapons are thrown in a burst.
Weapon animations not loading on initial pickup
Fixed that, turns out templates don’t play well sometimes with UE5 code when it comes to loading assets, so just reverted the code to be non-generic.
What’s next in store?
I probably want to complete out certain animations that already exist. Add some VFX & SFX. Generally a good bit of game art and shader programming, I am thinking of doing some of the game effects to give yous a glimpse on how I want the game to look (not definitively nor sticking to one style).
